Actually, I’m going to disagree. The ipod touch is great for me. I was considering getting a 160 GB ipod, but Apple discontinued that model, so there was no longer an ipod that could hold my media (as they release a 120 GB ipod instead of a 200 GB one). My video ipod would not even turn off after charging/syncing it from my computer or turn on, if it was not used for a while. Most of that has gone away and I enjoy how I can manage my email from it. As for fingerprints being noticeable, what do you expect? that happens with any touch screen device. I just bought the film to reduce fingerprints and have yet to see any fingerprints now. It’s not for everyone, but I do enjoy it.

It’s an mp3 player, not the cure for cancer - it may not be a cure for cancer, but it is a hell of alot more than just and mp3 player. there are so many features and now with the app store there are endless possibilities.

The touchscreen really makes life inconvenient sometimes - it can be inconveint sometimes but it is also very convient. there arent that many buttons so you dont have to remember what all the buttons do on some of those devices. the ipod touch is just a tap away. and the only button is the homescreen button that takes you to the homescreen no matter where you are.

The web browser is a hairsbreadth away from useless- the web browser can be tricky at times, but its so fast! and what do u expect from it? its only an ipod, not a computer!

$300 for 8GB of storage! -the reason its so much for a small storage is because of its features and the tehnology it brings. theres the accelometer which is a hell of a lot easier to do thing like safari and stuff.

The headphones suck - they may not be as good as a Bose headset but they are still pretty damn good. and they’re free too. they fit pretty well unless you’re an elf or something. and if you’re not satisfied with them then just go buy some better ones.

There are easy solutions to your weak arguments. #1, as everyone else has said, double tap the home button for on-screen music controls. #2. anyone who leaves ear-bleeding music on for 10 minutes while they are trying to adjust the volume is a sped. #3 get a plastic film to put on your screen to avoid “grease-balls” and scrathes.

I think the touch is very convienient, as you do not have to sync it to itunes every time you want to add a contact or note, or add dates to your calendar. I quite enjoy the music format with cover flow and genius specifically. I believe that the internet is just a bonus, Of course not a cure for cancer, but with youtube capabilities it is certainly better than anything such as, per say, the browser on the psp. Not such a good model to compare with, i know, but in many ways quite similar and inferior to the capabilities of the ipod touch.

it is not a thing of status for kids. I don’t know how old your daughter is, but if she is just getting into high school like me, she could really use it when heavy projects, relationships, and tings that a calendar can be used for come in it can be a real life-saver.

I agree with you. I bought my iPod touch last Christmas. It’s basically much wis-bang and I could get my songs played with an iPod shuffle.

I’m passing the toy on to my kid for her to enjoy and play. It is more of a status thing for kids, I think.
