Dance, Dance Revolution; and really it was, for some. Maybe you’re one of the dance dance geniuses that can that can read the speeding arrows easier than a book, and who has the stamina of a two year old and who isn’t afraid of tackling the fastest song on the hardest level. But for those of us who aren’t, there is a little flash game alternative. You don’t have to actually dance or feel like you’ve run a marathon afterward, and if you trip up, it’s the monkey on the screen who falls over, not you. Enter Dance Monkey Dance! A game involving only your fingers on the arrow keys. You still watch for the precise moment that the arrow on the screen is in the little box before hitting the corresponding arrow button, as you do in DDR. But somehow it’s less humiliating to mess up in this computer game.

After completing a song in Dance Monkey Dance you are graded by a trio of monkeys shamelessly imitating the American Idol judges. It’s really actually a pointless feature. Their comments and grades seem to be random, your performance having no effect on it. Plus, your real score is based on how many arrows you correctly get in the game. I wish I could skip past the judges, as I see it as a waste of time. (As if playing the game weren’t already!)

Anyway, what do you think? Is the game worth a play?
