Eventually, you will hear the term bittorrent and you will wonder what they heck people are talking about. You may have heard about it in the discussion about file sharing or you may have heard someone mention it in passing. Your IT department may have been talking about it during their lunch break and you overheard them. So what exactly is bittorrent?

Cheaper Than iTunes and DRM-Free

Believe it or not, Amazon is doing something worthwhile. Don’t believe me, check out their MP3 store. It is worth looking at. What’s so great about an MP3 store by Amazon? Their MP3s are DRM-free. That means once you download it, it is no different than those MP3s you (allegedly) downloaded with Kazaa. Besides, it is actually cheaper than iTunes…most of the time.

Instead of doing a flat price on their music, like iTunes, Amazon prices songs according to the length of the song. To be sure, this is not the way you would want to download Ina Goda Davida (its a 16 minute song). The biggest draw is that the music they have available is from more studios than just EMI. The range of music is great…from Pink Floyd to Timbaland. Continue reading →

About as painful as a papercut

Here’s the deal, I tried to update my WordPress installation to the newest version (2.3). I figured the latest and greates would always be best, right? WRONG!! I can’t believe that it broke my site and for a while I couldn’t even log into WordPress to change anything.

I thought WordPress was simple

I went to Wordpress.org and went to their support section to find out what I had done that was screwing with my whole site. I came to find out that very few plug-ins had been updated to work with the new version of WordPress and the plugins I had were doing it. So, what did I do? I deactivated all of my plugins and tried to see if it would work.
