I only have a few abilities that I am confident enough to brag about. One is my foosball-playing skills, (I have never played anyone that I can’t beat) another is my astounding memory - it trumps that of an elephant - and thirdly is my Sudoku prowess!
For me it started about 2 years ago while a co-worker of mine and I stumbled through a newspaper sudoku together during lunch. After that I went through a few of the cheap Sudoku books and grew in speed and skill. I’m to a point now where I can pretty much finish any sudoku thrown at me by logicking my way through it. I used to think you HAD to guess when the puzzles got harder, but I have since reformed.
I now own an Electronic Sudoku. It’s supposed to look a bit like a Palm Pilot. It has the cute little stylus and everything. I think it’s great! You never finish all the puzzles and have to go buy another one, and you don’t have to remember to take a pencil around with it. Ah yes, this must be love. One feature I love is that it times you. Sometimes the puzzles set on hard take me 7 minutes to complete. Sometime they take me 50 minutes.
If you like Sudoku, spring for the electronic kind, (you can get them for pretty cheap) there’s no going back.

I have a friend who says sudoku helps his logic skills. Could this be true? to be totally honest whenever i play the game i feel like i’m working a lot for little return.
It could definitely be true. In fact, I’d be so bold as to say that for sure it helps logic skills. Your brain learns how to figure the puzzles out, using logic, and that skill carries over to other areas as well.
The more sudoku I do, the more ways I find to do them. I’m amazed at the power of the brain. It’s almost like it does the thinking so I don’t have to.
So, while you may feel like you aren’t getting anything out of it, you likely are. You sharpen your mind. Pretty good return, I’d say.
I have 2 friends that are absolutely obsessed with Sudoku. They are smarter than me it seems sometimes. Could it be the sudoku? Who knows, but at least you can save a few trees with this thing.
My mother is a big sudoku fan and I bought her a similar gadget for Christmas. At first she was thrilled but then it turned out that those digital numbers were just too small for her tired eyes. She still uses it but 20 min max at a time.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this to sudoku fans with healthy eyes
Sudoku has become so popular the past 15 months even as a corporate gift. As stated in the article you almost never run out of puzzles to solve and are pretty useful all around for travelers. I’m not much into the games but these things sell and people love them. Best of all compared to other handhelds they are fairly cheap too.
This will be a great gift for someone I know. Thanks
I am a dam fan of sudoko game. In my college no one can defeat me. My wish is to meet this person and have a sudoko competition with him.
I do love to have Sudoku races! Though I have never competed against anyone that claims to be a pro at the puzzle. So, I win, but I don’t have stiff competition. I race against my husband sometimes, (when he’s in a giving mood) and I will do a hard puzzle while he does an easy one. Or I will try to finish two before he can do one. It’s fun.
I love sudoku! This is very cool.

Infact sudoku is very interesting. It helps us work with our brains. The logic also is used in other areas. Its good for our brains. ones brain becomes sharp.
Hehe, i have a friend that is Sudoku obsesed and he plays all the time on the PC, maybe i’ll buy him an electronic sudoku game like this to play when he’s not on the computer.
Seeing that, I am wondering about chess program based palm handhelds, which should exercise the brain (even more).
You know I have not even played Sudoku yet, I will though be looking at getting this as a gift for my mum who loves it, thanks.
Electronic sudoku! I’m still getting the hang of the paper version!
that is an awesome toy. Where can i get one?
Too funny… my wife spends hours (literally) every day playing sudoku. She will love this. No more sudoku magazines lying around the house.
I was a Sudoku junkie at one time! To busy now. Best game to pass the time. Hey Trends, she put an Amazon text link in the post. Go buy one and send 40 cents her way!
I’m really good at Sudoku. Always get it before classes and do em during class, great time waster in those 2-hour lectures
This is a really cool idea (bound to happen eventually ;)) but nonetheless cool. I might just go out and buy one
LOL. I LOVE Sudoku. I’ve one installed on my Motorola phone and I got hooked. However, I don’t think I’m that hooked enough to buy a stand alone player.
Gah, I want one of these! I just love Sudoku, and this just looks sooo cool!
I really enjoy Sudoku…however I don’t really have the patience for it. I used to play it all the time when I was in really boring college classes.

Bought an electronic sudoku for my girlfriend and I think she has become obsessed with it.
Hi Melanie,
I’m a sudoku fanatic as well… can’t get enough of playing online at WebSudoku, or selecting a random puzzle (medium to difficult) from that site, printing it out (large version thank you!), and going to town while on the couch or at the kitchen table.
Thanks too for recommending that particular electronic Sudoku model … I have yet to get an electronic one and want to - badly! - but there are so many to choose from. Your recommendation clears the way!
Thanks again.
Alison

Yea, I think I still like it on paper but man, either way if you catch this bug, watch out. Would make a great gift. However, my step dad is an avid reader and very smart so I thought he would love this. NOPE.
This is an extraordinary invention and will be very much useful, the features are excellent. But the price of this is not mentioned in the article, I actually feel like taking one.
I think I should get better at the paper version before investing in this…
Looks like a noteworthy piece of gizmo to me. I guess technology is getting to be very interesting nowadays. Every now and then innovations are just cropping up.
Anyways, I’m contemplating on getting one. It could be an ideal gift for someone I know.

I think games like this should be brought to the capitalized. These games really increases our mental health a lot.
There’s a digital version for everything now — I won’t be surprised if people will invent tangible body clocks that you can strap to your body, maneuverable with a press of a button.

I would like to say thanks for the links. Its rocks……..scientist are create like these games then they provide with us rules. puzzle games are like brain games we can develop our skills.Nowadays children are like this games. You can give your brain a work-out by reading, doing crossword puzzles, … Also keeping your brain going with puzzles
But for those of us who aren’t, there is a little flash game alternative. You don’t have to actually dance or feel like you’ve run a marathon afterward, and if you trip up, it’s the monkey on the screen who falls over, not you.
If my girlfriend finds this, I’ll have to call off the relationship. I’ve never known somebody as relentlessly addicted to it as her.
This is what we should all do when we are bored at work
small and easy to hide
Nice product! I love these handheld devices as they’re easy to use and read, portable for the road or for just hanging around.
